Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 September 2026

On this page

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Indian Politics website at https://indianpolitics.co/ (the “Website”), its newsletters, feeds and related channels (together, the “Service”), operated by HappyChases Media Works (OPC) Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India ("Company", “we”, “us”, “our”).

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICE YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS, OUR DISCLAIMER AND OUR PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SERVICE.

1. Acceptance and changes

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the Company. We may modify these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on the Website; changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

By using the Service you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you are using the Service under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. The newsletter is available only to persons aged 18 or over.

3. The Service

The Service publishes news reports, briefs, explainers and analyses about Indian politics and public affairs ("Content") free of charge. It is supported by third-party advertising (see Section 8). We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice or liability.

4. How Content is made — and what that means for you

4.1 AI-assisted Content

Content is researched, drafted, summarised and otherwise processed with the help of artificial intelligence tools, and is fact-checked using AI tools and research of publicly available sources. Content is published under the Website’s name and carries no individual bylines. AI tools can generate errors, including inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or fabricated information, which our checks may not catch.

4.2 No claim of truth; information only

CONTENT IS PROVIDED FOR GENERAL INFORMATION ONLY. WE DO NOT CLAIM, REPRESENT OR WARRANT THAT ANY CONTENT IS TRUE, ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, IMPARTIAL OR FREE FROM ERROR. Statements attributed to any person, party, authority or source are reported as statements made by them and are not assertions of fact by us. Allegations remain allegations unless established by a competent court or authority. Analyses, explainers and perspectives are expressions of opinion and fair comment.

4.3 Your responsibility to verify

Content is not legal, financial, electoral, political or professional advice. It is your sole responsibility to verify any information against primary and official sources before relying on it for any purpose. You agree that you will not hold us responsible for any decision you make, or action you take or omit, on the basis of any Content.

4.4 No duty to update

Content reflects what appeared to be known at the time of publication. We have no obligation to update, correct or remove any Content, although we may do so at our discretion.

5. Intellectual property

5.1 Our rights

Except for third-party material, all Content and the design, text, graphics, logos, software and compilation of the Service are owned by or licensed to the Company and are protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws.

5.2 What you may do

You may read the Content for your personal, non-commercial use, and you may share links to it and quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the original page. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, frame, mirror, or create derivative works from the Content, or use it to train, fine-tune or benchmark any AI or machine-learning model, without our prior written permission.

5.3 Third-party material

Third-party material (including quotations, documents, images, logos and data) remains the property of its respective owners and is used for reporting current events and current affairs, criticism or review, under fair dealing or with permission. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in third-party material.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law, including election laws and the Information Technology Act, 2000;
  • misrepresent, alter or present Content out of context in a way that is misleading, including by editing screenshots, headlines or quotations, or by creating manipulated or synthetic media that appears to come from us;
  • impersonate us or any other person, or suggest any affiliation with or endorsement by us that does not exist;
  • scrape, crawl, harvest or systematically extract Content or data by automated means (other than standard search-engine indexing and RSS readers), or use Content for training AI models;
  • interfere with, disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems;
  • transmit viruses, malware or other harmful code;
  • use our newsletter sign-up to subscribe any other person without their consent;
  • click on advertisements other than out of genuine interest, or encourage or induce anyone else to do so;
  • generate artificial, invalid or fraudulent ad impressions or clicks by any means, automated or manual;
  • obscure, modify, relocate or otherwise interfere with the display of advertisements.

7. Submissions

If you send us tips, feedback, corrections, documents or other material ("Submissions"), you confirm you have the right to do so and grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, publish and distribute them in any media. We are under no obligation to use, acknowledge or return any Submission, and we may keep the identity of a source confidential or not, at our discretion and subject to law.

8.1 Links and services. The Service links to third-party websites and uses third-party services (such as hosting and email delivery providers). We do not control and are not responsible for them, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8.2 Advertising. The Service displays advertisements served automatically by Google AdSense and its partners. Advertising is what keeps the Service free.

  • We do not select, endorse or verify individual advertisements, and an advertisement appearing next to any Content does not indicate any connection between the advertiser and that Content.
  • Advertisements, including any that concern political parties, candidates, governments or causes, do not reflect our views and have no influence on our editorial decisions.
  • We are not responsible for any advertiser’s content, products, services or claims. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and that advertiser.
  • Advertisements may be personalised using cookies; see Section 5 of our Privacy Policy for how this works and how to opt out.

If you believe an advertisement on the Service is unlawful, misleading or inappropriate, please report it to saina.bisht@happychases.com.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, reliability, impartiality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components. Our full Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COMPANY AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES;
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OPPORTUNITY, REPUTATION OR GOODWILL;
  • LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM ANY ERROR, INACCURACY OR OMISSION IN CONTENT, INCLUDING ANY ERROR GENERATED BY AI TOOLS;
  • LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT OR FROM ANY STATEMENT OF A THIRD PARTY REPORTED ON THE SERVICE;
  • LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE,

WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND DEFAMATION), STATUTE OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR INR 1,000 (ONE THOUSAND INDIAN RUPEES), WHICHEVER IS LOWER.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Company and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents and affiliates from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your misuse or misrepresentation of any Content, any Submission you make, or your violation of any law or of the rights of any third party.

12. Newsletter

By subscribing to our newsletter you agree to receive emails from us for the edition you choose — an email each time new Content is published, a daily digest, or a weekly digest — and occasional service messages about the newsletter. Newsletters are sent automatically and reflect Content at the moment of publication; this Section and our Disclaimer apply to them in full. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your email address.

13. Complaints and corrections

Complaints about Content, including requests for correction or removal, must first be made through our Grievance Redressal process. You agree to give us a reasonable opportunity to review and, where we consider appropriate, correct or remove Content before initiating any other proceedings. Any correction or removal is made without admission of fault or liability.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, or remove any Content, at any time, for any reason, without notice. Sections 4 to 11 and 15 to 20 survive termination.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of India. Subject to Section 16, the courts at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India have exclusive jurisdiction.

16. Dispute resolution

16.1 Informal resolution. Before commencing any proceedings, you agree to first raise the matter through our Grievance Redressal process and to attempt in good faith to resolve it informally for at least thirty (30) days.

16.2 Arbitration. Any dispute not so resolved shall be finally resolved by arbitration by a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement of the parties or, failing agreement, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, and the proceedings shall be conducted in English.

16.3 Individual claims only. To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis and not in any class, consolidated or representative action.

16.4 Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or any Content must be notified to us in writing within one (1) year after the Content was first published, failing which the claim is waived.

17. Severability and waiver

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.

18. Entire agreement and assignment

These Terms, together with the Disclaimer, Privacy Policy and Editorial & AI Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them without restriction.

19. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, acts of government, network or power failures, or failures of third-party service providers.
