On this page

This Disclaimer applies to the Indian Politics website at https://indianpolitics.co/ (the “Website”), its newsletters, feeds, social media posts and any other channel through which we distribute content (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by HappyChases Media Works (OPC) Private Limited ("we", “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Service you accept this Disclaimer in full. If you do not accept it, do not use the Service.

1. General information only

Everything published on the Service — including news reports, briefs, explainers, analyses, summaries, “at a glance” points, perspectives, headlines, images, captions, newsletters and any other material (together, “Content”) — is provided solely for general information and discussion. Content is not legal, financial, investment, electoral, political, professional or any other kind of advice, and must not be treated as a substitute for such advice or for official sources.

2. Content is prepared with the help of AI

You should know how our Content is made:

  • Content is researched, drafted, summarised, edited, formatted and otherwise processed with the help of artificial intelligence (“AI”) tools.
  • Content is fact-checked using AI tools and research of publicly available sources, such as official publications, public records, statements and other media reports.
  • AI tools can and do make mistakes. They may produce information that is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, misattributed, taken out of context, or entirely fabricated, and such errors may not be detected by our checks.
  • We do not attach individual bylines to Content. Content is published by the Website as an organisation and does not represent the personal view of any individual.

3. No claim of truth, accuracy or completeness

We do not claim, represent or warrant that any Content is true, accurate, complete, current, reliable or free from error or omission. In particular:

  • Content reflects information that appeared to be available from the sources consulted at the time of publication. Facts, figures, positions and events change, and we are under no obligation to update Content.
  • Publication of any statement is not an assertion by us that the statement is true. Statements, claims, allegations, quotations and positions attributed to any person, political party, government, authority, organisation or source are theirs, not ours, and are reported as having been made, not as established fact.
  • Allegations reported on the Service remain allegations unless and until established by a competent court or authority. Nothing on the Service is a finding or suggestion of guilt or wrongdoing by any person.
  • Explainers, analyses and “perspectives” set out interpretations and arguments. They are expressions of opinion and fair comment on matters of public interest, not statements of fact.
  • Headlines, summaries and “at a glance” points are necessarily condensed and should be read together with the full Content and its sources.

You must independently verify any information against primary and official sources — for example the Election Commission of India, the websites of Parliament and state legislatures, the Gazette of India, court records and official government releases — before relying on it for any purpose.

4. Balance is an aim, not a guarantee

We aim to present facts neutrally and to give competing viewpoints fair and equal space. However, selection, ordering, wording and emphasis inevitably involve judgement, and we do not guarantee that any Content is free of bias or that every viewpoint is represented. Inclusion of a viewpoint is not an endorsement of it; omission of a viewpoint is not a rejection of it.

5. Independence

The Website is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any political party, candidate, government, ministry, public authority, or election body. Names, symbols, logos and trademarks of parties, governments and organisations are used only for identification and reporting, and belong to their respective owners. Any sponsored or paid content, if ever published, will be clearly labelled as such.

Advertising. The Website displays advertisements served automatically by Google AdSense and its partners, marked “Advertisement”. We do not select, endorse or verify them, and they — including any political or issue-based advertisements — do not represent our views or influence our reporting. We are not responsible for the content of any advertisement or for any dealings between you and an advertiser. See our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

6. No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we, our directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents and affiliates shall not be liable for any loss, damage, claim, cost or expense of any kind — whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive, and whether in contract, tort (including negligence and defamation), statute or otherwise — arising out of or in connection with:

  • any Content, including any error, inaccuracy, omission, misstatement, misattribution or outdated information in it, however caused, including where caused by AI tools;
  • your access to, use of, or reliance on the Service or any Content, or any decision or action you take (or do not take) on the basis of it;
  • statements or material of third parties reported, quoted, linked or summarised on the Service;
  • any interruption, delay, unavailability, virus or other defect in the Service or in any newsletter.

You use the Service and rely on any Content entirely at your own risk. The Service and all Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Our aggregate liability, if any, is limited as set out in our Terms of Use.

The Service may quote, summarise, embed or link to third-party material (including statements, documents, images, data and websites). Such material is used for the purposes of reporting current events and current affairs, criticism and review, and is believed to constitute fair dealing under Section 52 of the Copyright Act, 1957, or to be used with permission or under an applicable licence. All rights in third-party material remain with their respective owners. We do not control and are not responsible for any third-party website or material, and a link is not an endorsement.

8. Corrections, complaints and takedown

If you believe any Content is inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, infringes your rights, or should otherwise be reviewed, please contact us through our Grievance Redressal process. We will review the request and may correct, update, clarify or remove Content at our sole discretion. Any correction, update or removal is made in good faith and without any admission of fault or liability.

9. Newsletters and other channels

This Disclaimer applies equally to Content delivered by email newsletter, RSS, social media or any other channel. Newsletters are sent automatically when Content is published and reflect the Content as it stood at that moment; later corrections appear only on the Website.

10. Changes

We may change this Disclaimer at any time by publishing an updated version on the Website. The version in force when you use the Service applies.
